The Parade will start at Division Street and continue down Plainfield Avenue to Jefferson Blvd and end at Father & Son Legion Post 435 Jefferson Blvd & Oakland Avenue
All Veterans, Marching Units, Scout Troops, Youth Sports Leagues, High School Organizations, Floats, Antique Cars, Local Police & Fire Departments and Horse Mounted Individuals or Units are invited and welcome to participate.
MONROE – The Monroe library will host a presentation called “The Telegram,” presented by Julian Davis on May 24 at 11 a.m. “The Telegram” is a little-remembered story of an incident that led the United States into the Great War of 1914 and the behind scenes manipulations to bring others into the conflict. 4 Municipal Plaza, Monroe.
Car and Truck show
MONROE – Monroe, and Friends of the Monroe Senior Center will present and car and truck show on May 25 at the senior center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is no fee for spectators, though those attending are asked to bring a non-perishable food item(s) or donation for the food pantry. The event will also include games, food trucks, and a DJ. 12 Halsey Reed Road, Monroe.
NORTH BRUNSWICK – Our Lady of Peace Church will host a blood drive on May 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. To donate blood you must weigh at least 110 pounds and meet other requirements. Most medications will not keep you from donating. People with diabetes and blood pressure controlled by medication can donate. Remember to eat before donating and bring ID. All donors will receive a $10 Houlihan’s coupon. 1740 Route 130 North, North Brunswick.
East Brunswick Memorial Day Observance
EAST BRUNSWICK – East Brunswick will hold a Memorial Day Observance on May 26 at 1 p.m. at Veterans Park, located at the municipal complex. The observance will include the raising of the flag, wreath laying, and a mini-patriotic concert. Event is rain or shine. 1 Jean Walling Civic Center, East Brunswick.
Memorial Day 5K run or walk
NORTH BRUNSWICK – The North Brunswick Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services’ annual Memorial Day 5K Run or Walk is May 27 at 8:30 a.m. at the North Brunswick Community Park. Check-in is at 7:30 a.m. Registration is $20 for an individual or $85 for a team of four. Registration ends May 24. Monroe Memorial Day
MONROE – Monroe will hold multiple Memorial Day Remembrance ceremonies on May 27. At 9 a.m., the Veterans Monument at the municipal complex will host a wreath laying and Memorial Day service. At 9:45 a.m., a similar ceremony will take place at Veterans Park on Avenue K. Transportation is available for veterans both to and from the ceremonies originating at the municipal complex. 1 Municipal Plaza, Monroe.
Old Bridge Memorial Day parade
OLD BRIDGE – The Old Bridge Memorial Day parade will begin at 9 a.m. on May 27 at the intersection of Laurence Parkway and Ely Avenue. The Grand Marshal is World War II veteran Phillip Tanala.
Jamesburg Memorial Day parade
JAMESBURG – The Jamesburg Memorial Day parade begins at 10 a.m. on May 27 at Veterans Park. After the parade, there will be a memorial service at the park.
Memorial Day ceremony North Brunswick
NORTH BRUNSWICK – North Brunswick will hold a Memorial Day commemoration ceremony at Veterans Park on May 27 at 11 a.m. Event is held rain or shine. Roosevelt Avenue, North Brunswick.
New Brunswick-Highland Park Memorial Day parade, ceremony
NEW BRUNSWICK – The Veterans Alliance of Raritan Valley, Highland Park and New Brunswick Memorial Day parade begins at 11 a.m. at Monument Square in New Brunswick, the corner of Livingston Avenue and George Street. Then it travels up Raritan Avenue to the Doughboy Monument in Highland Park. A short ceremony will take place to honor veterans and troops stationed overseas. Refreshments will be served.
Cranbury Memorial Day parade
CRANBURY – The Cranbury Lions Club will hold its Memorial Day parade at 1 p.m. on May 27. The parade will travel north to Plainsboro Road, east to Maplewood Avenue, south to Park Place East, west to North Main Street and then south to Memorial Park. At Memorial Park, there will be a post-parade ceremony remembering and honoring veterans and active service members.
Spotswood Memorial Day parade
SPOTSWOOD – The Spotswood Memorial Day parade begins at 2 p.m. on May 27. The parade will start at SWM International on Main Street and conclude at American Legion Post 253 on Devoe Avenue. Prior to the parade, there will be several observances at various locations starting at 7 a.m. 85 Main St., Spotswood.
